The Oppo Find X8 Pro is a new flagship smartphone that is coming back strong after a hiatus. I say this because the Oppo Find X series really hasn't been offered to the global market for quite some time. The previous two generations, the Find X6 and Find X7 series, were only sold exclusively for the Chinese market.
Then Oppo launched a series of foldable screens as its main product for the global market including in Malaysia. Oppo completes this phone with various improvements related to design, internal performance, camera system and also software. But can this phone meet the expectations of many? Here is a full review for the Oppo Find X8 Pro.

Design
If you are familiar with Oppo's range of premium smartphones you can imagine what it might feel like with the Find X8 Pro. It stands out with its charming design and looks fresh and elegant. The back of this phone uses a finish that does not reflect light, and is quite rough and easy to clean. It can also be said that it is not as smooth as the glossy finish. There is no longer the design of the dual-tone color concept of the Find X6 Pro and it is replaced by a color that gives an elegant minimalist effect through the choice of Black and Pearl White, such as the review unit in this article.
Then there's the big camera bump on the back with the main quad camera and also the prominent Hasselblad logo. It is proof of Oppo's collaboration with one of the world's leading camera manufacturers, which also reflects the premium touch on this phone. Similarly, the jagged finish also completes the space around the camera bump.
You will see this camera bump fills almost a third of the back space and has a similar design to the previous Oppo Find N3. The only difference is the addition of another camera sensor and moving the Hasselblad logo to the center. There is also an LED Flash placed right next to the camera bump. Not only that, Oppo also added a layer of Armor Shield as additional durability protection.
On the left side there is an Alert Slider button which was also previously used on the Find N3 series. As always, it can be used to easily switch between silent, vibration and sound modes. Again making it more practical than accessing through the main settings column. The right side houses the power button and audio adjustment with a solid construction and can be pressed well. Also to be found is a unique camera button that works like a feature on the iPhone 16.
It is named as Quick Button with several key functions that facilitate the use of the camera application. For example, double click to activate the camera application faster. It can also be used to easily adjust the zoom level especially in landscape mode.
Finally allows photos and videos to be taken by just pressing this button once. With these physical buttons, the experience of taking pictures and videos feels more practical without having to open the main screen to find the camera application. However it only works when the phone is held horizontally while taking pictures or videos.
You can also find the SIM card slot, infrared, audio grille and SIM card slot at the bottom. The SIM tray is provided to support dual nano SIMs while the speaker is of the stereo type with another one placed on the phone's bezel on the side of the screen.
In addition, the phone also has an IP68/69 certification that is not only waterproof and dustproof but can also withstand pressurized water jets and high temperatures. One thing that is still not included is the 3.5mm audio jack which was also the case on the previous model.
Find X8 Pro has a beautiful and bright 6.82-inch screen of the 1.5K LTPO AMOLED type with an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120Hz, Brightness also reaches up to 4,500nits in addition to supporting ProXDR, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision technology. The body is also stronger through a curved design for a modern and minimalist touch. This curved design also has its own advantages that can add value to the user experience.
In addition, it provides an almost bezel-less viewing experience. This in turn provides more space to be enjoyed without having to sacrifice comfort of use. With the curved corner design on this phone also helps improve comfort when holding the phone for a long time.
Usage Experience
The screen offers not only high resolution but also bright enough colors for a clear display in most situations. I personally think the level of color accuracy looks pretty accurate as does the HDR content that stands out. In addition, it can be used without problems even under direct sunlight. Response to touch is also good with me being able to scroll and open apps just fine.
Find X8 Pro is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 9400 chip which is also used on the Vivo X200 Pro. The reviewed variant also has 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 internal storage. Also included is virtual RAM support of up to 16GB of RAM which makes the phone have up to 32GB of RAM in total for more applications to be launched simultaneously. Four benchmark tests including Antutu, Geekbench 6, Geekbench AI and 3D Mark were also performed on this phone with the results as below:
Antutu 3D

Oppo Find X8 Pro – 1728/1740/2147

iPhone 16 Pro Max– 4516/7744/6204
Using the Find X8 Pro for almost a week I found it to run smoothly in most daily scenarios. Whether used for scrolling the interface or various other daily tasks, the Find X8 Pro is able to recognize it well. Some games that require high processing power such as COD, Genshin Impact and Honor Of Kings can also be played without problems.
It's just that in reality, I once also experienced the issue of the device stopping and the application failing to work suddenly. The issue is not temporary and I have to do a reboot process for the phone to work normally again. The process of switching between applications is also disrupted when the issue occurs.
In the meantime the phone was also found to be very hot in some situations before returning to normal. This includes when running benchmark tests, downloading heavy applications and taking pictures continuously for a long period of time. However, I kindly remind you that this problem occurs in the comment unit in the article. There may be an update in the future or it may not happen on the devices that are marketed later.
Find X8 Pro also comes with Android 15 software and ColorOS 15 interface. This new software offers various more practical improvements for a fairly smooth experience without extreme issues. Likewise with the latest AI software from Oppo such as OPPO Notes and Documents with the ability to reprocess language structures in a few seconds.
AI Recording Summary works like AI Honor Notes which can produce audio transcription automatically. It can record and translate conversations in real time to ensure users don't miss anything important. ColorOS 15 also introduces Circle to Search with Google to Oppo smart devices. It also comes with the Google Gemini app to improve user productivity and creativity.
The same goes for the Share With iPhone feature that enables wireless file transfer between Android devices and iPhones. This includes sharing photos, videos, documents and other types of content directly without relying on cloud storage. However, the specific O+ Connect application needs to be downloaded first to continue the transfer process.
Other features that can be found include Dual App Split-Screen Mode for a more efficient multitasking experience, Trusted Execution Environment technology to process personal data safely and a Dynamic Island clone that can now be customized and even look similar to what is offered on Apple devices. Another good offering for this smartphone is Android software support for four versions and six years of security updates provided by Oppo.
Picture Quality
The Find X8 Pro is equipped with a 50MP quad-sensor with ultra-wide-angle (15mm), wide-angle (23mm), portrait (Hasselblad) and periscope telephoto (135 mm) capabilities up to 6X optical/ 120X digital zoom. It also uses a Hasselblad camera system with built-in OIS. The camera also supports built-in AI and HDR for the production of images with better light balance. But it can still be turned off manually if necessary. Selfie photos can be taken through the 32MP front camera with Sony IMX615 sensor.
The interface seems easy to understand and there is no problem at all to access every available camera mode. The included camera modes are many such as Master Hasselblad, Video, Photo, Portrait and More. The picture capture option can be taken at a ratio of 1:1, 4:3, 16:9 and full. A total of five focal lengths are offered on the device's camera between 15mm – 135mm.
Also followed by three Smart Scene features consisting of Stage, Silhouette and Fireworks. Then three Hasselblad Portrait Mode bokeh effects to choose from such as Misty, Glowing and Dreamy with adjustable bokeh effect control between f/1.4 to f/16. Also attracting attention are the three new Flim Simulation filters such as CC Film, NC Film and NH Film.
There are also AI-based features available such as AI Enhance Clarity that can improve image quality without losing important details. For example a cropped image with low resolution can be converted to 4K in a short time. AI Unblur, on the other hand, ensures that the image is very clear and makes it more attractive and looks solid.
Followed by AI Remove Reflections with the ability to remove unwanted reflections then produce clearer and better quality images. Last but not least is AI Eraser which can erase or remove unwanted objects from photos with the help of AI. Oppo also added a new ability called people remover through it. It should also be noted that all the editing features provided require an internet connection to access all the mentioned features.
Other features that can be found include Livephoto, Soft Light Portrait and 4K Dolby Vision Video for both front and rear cameras. 4K videos that support 30/60FPS can also be made with a choice of zoom capabilities between 0.6X, 1X, 2X, 3X and 6X. The camera system also supports recording with HDR features that can make video results have bright color contrast and better detail. There is also a Sound Focus function to produce quality video with low audio noise.
The camera is seen to be able to balance the color scheme between the sensors. Focusing on the subject is also quick and easy to take pictures. Pictures taken with the main camera always look consistently bright with high detail in most scenarios. There is no problem of overexposure or excessive color tones from real reality including for human skin. The Find X8 Pro's camera also works best in Portrait Mode where it tends to keep photos looking realistic.
It's just that in some situations, edge detection can be said to be imperfect as it obscures the wrong background. The same goes for drastic color changes in low lighting. It looks soft with a pale or yellowish skin color. But neither is the case for photos in bright lighting. Similarly, the ultrawide camera is seen to work best in maintaining it at the same level as the main sensor even in low lighting. Zoom performance is the best up to 35X with details on the image that are still awake.
The Find X8 Pro also has a dedicated night mode that is activated automatically, since there is no dedicated button on the camera app. It can however be turned off if you don't want to go through the settings room. The same goes for the macro mode option that is activated automatically, or can be turned off if you don't want to use it. Image quality of both.
Battery Endurance
Find X8 is equipped with a large 5,910mAh battery which is also silicon-carbon which has been upgraded for better capability in various conditions. In normal use the device can last for 25 hours with the screen on for 9 hours 36 minutes. On heavier usage, the device lasts for 9 hours with the screen on
What's in the Box?

1 X USB-C Cable.

Conclusion
This phone is truly unique and stands out in almost every aspect. It includes design, performance, camera system and battery life. It looks premium and feels solid in the hand. The camera system is quite capable in most scenarios. Great battery with wired and wireless fast charging. However, criticism should be given for dumping fat applications. Apart from that the issue of the device stops and the application does not work suddenly. Applications are also not closed entirely when the Close All button is pressed. These bugs and shortcomings somewhat drown out the greatness of a device that aims to be the best in its class.
