Pos Malaysia Receives 1092 Modenas MEV-1 Pro Electric Motorcycles – Will Be Offered To The Public In The First Quarter Of 2025

For the past few years, Pos Malaysia has started their sustainability agenda to achieve the target of zero emissions by 2050, by using electric vehicles for the first and last distance deliveries completely by 2030. Until now they have used electric vans and also electric motorcycles. Today they announced the addition of 1,092 Modenas MEV-1 Pro electric motorcycles to reach the 2030 target.

The Modenas MEV-1 Pro electric motorcycle is the second motorcycle from Modenas to join the line of electric vehicles, after the MEV-1. The MEV 1 Pro motorcycle weighs only 80kg, has 4.9kW of power and 165 Nm of torque with rear wheel drive without any flywheel. It has a 5.4 kWh battery that provides a travel distance of around 95km with an AC 0-100% charging time of 4 hours.

For the use of Pos Malaysia, the Modenas MEV-1 Pro has been designed to be able to accommodate a cargo load of up to 150kg, with the maximum weight that can be accommodated with the postman being 250kg. It can even climb a 19 degree slope and not all electric motorcycles can do that. This MEV-Pro also comes with a reverse function, 3 speed options, a single rear suspension that allows the tire to be changed within 5 minutes as well as a centralized monitoring system that allows Pos Malaysia to monitor the performance of postmen.

The Modenas MEV-1 Pro motorcycle will be delivered in stages to Pos Malaysia, and Modenas also stated that it will be offered to public users as early as the first quarter of 2025.
