Redline And Meta Malware Platforms Shut Down In Joint Operation Magnus Raid

The hacking industry is an industry that is seen as quite complicated, because the technology development process required to break into company or government data storage is not something that can be built easily.

Because of this, many hacker groups will typically use hacking or malware platforms, and two of the biggest platforms used by many hacker groups lately are Redline and META.

Recently, the Dutch National Police has issued a statement that these two malware platforms have been busted, in an operation called Operation Magnus, which was conducted together with the Federal Bureau of Investigation from the United States and various security agencies from other countries. another.

Both the Redline and META platforms are platforms for data-stealing malware, a type of malware that steals data and personal details on web browsers in computers that are already infected with the malware. This includes ID and password details on platforms, cookies, web history, documents contained in browser memory, crypto wallets and so on.

These stolen details are then sold, and from here, the data used can be used to steal data from not only a company, but also various government agencies and so on. Data stolen using these details will in turn be sold on the dark web.

An Operation Magnus website was also developed, and contained a video announcing that both of these malware platforms had been taken down, and could no longer be used for hacking purposes.

More interestingly, the authorities have also managed to seize important data such as source code, server machines, Telegram bots and others, which seems to make it difficult for the developers of this malware platform to start new malware projects in other locations.

In the meantime, the authorities also said that they also now have registration and login details, IP addresses and others regarding the users of the Redline and META platforms. It is said that all developers and users of this malware platform will face legal action soon.

Using details obtained through Operation Magnus, it is also reported that the Dutch National Police have contacted these hacker groups for further action.
