The Rode portable microphone offers high-quality audio recording but the downside is that its large boxy size makes the shirt londeh down due to being too heavy. Following the trend of microphones targeting social media content creators, the Rode Wireless Micro launches today in a more compact size.
The Rode Wireless Micro now has the size of a small pill-shaped microphone with a storage pod that is also much more compact in size. Each Wireless Micro unit comes with two signal receivers that can be connected to smartphones using USB-C or Lightning ports.
It is designed specifically for smartphones and therefore does not come with a receiver unit that can be connected to the camera. Both included microphones come with clips as well as magnetic connections found on DJI and HollyLand microphones.
Each microphone can operate for up to 7 hours on a single charge or up to 21 hours with the help of a charging pod. The receiver unit can capture audio signals up to 100 meters away. Rode Wireless Micro is sold for $149 (~RM 660) for a set in black and white color options.
