Pre-orders for the new Sony Alpha 1 II camera are now open in Malaysia after its official launch a few days ago. Those who want to get this camera can buy it starting today at a price of RM 29,299 each. Any pre-order will also be given exclusive gifts including a Sony CEA-G80T CF Express Card, Sony NP-FZ100 battery, PGYTECH OnePro Flex 50l Backpack and a three-month subscription to Capture One All-In-One for purchases until December 15, 2024.
The Sony Alpha 1 II is the successor to the A1 Mark 1 which was announced in 2021. It still retains the same design but has been given improvements in terms of internal specifications to make it more attractive to content producers in particular.
The Sony Alpha 1 II uses a 50.1MP Stacked CMOS Exmor RS sensor and a BIONZ XR image processor that can take pictures at a rate of 30FPS. This is the same as the Mark I but according to Sony the focusing system is now faster. It is said to be able to track eyes on birds 50% faster, 30% on animals and 30% on humans with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).
Sony has also equipped the camera with video recording formats at 8K 30p, 4K 120p and 10-bit 4:2:2 resolutions. In addition, it has a pre-capture mode that allows a picture of the subject to be taken a few seconds before the shutter button is pressed. Several additional buttons are also provided in a more ergonomic camera body. The touch LCD panel can also now be rotated in various directions.
