The Pixel 9 Pro costs $406 in components, which is around RM1,789. It costs 11% less than the Pixel 8 Pro. These costs are for the Tensor G4 chip which costs $80, the Samsung M14 screen which costs $75 and the camera components which amount to $61.
For the iPhone 16 Pro, the cost is 40% more expensive than the Pixel 9 Pro which is $568 around RM2,504. This is for the A18 Pro chip which costs $135, the screen is $110 and the camera component is $91. This cost does not include installation, shipping, promotion, packaging, etc.
In Malaysia, the Pixel 9 Pro is sold at a starting price of RM5199. While the iPhone 16 Pro starts from RM4,999. Yes, this year the selling price of the iPhone is cheaper than before but the Pixel is more expensive.
