Thinner Apple MacBook Pro Expected to Arrive in 2026

The new MacBook Pro M4 on the market now has an attractive design with high processing power density. But if placed next to the MacBook Air, this laptop looks much thicker, especially on the body. According to a recent report by Mark Gurman for Bloomberg, a new, thinner MacBook Pro is in development with it expected to arrive in 2026.

This is done by replacing the Mini-LED panel with an OLED panel. OLED panels do not require additional lights on the back to illuminate the screen and therefore thinner cover parts can be produced. Other advantages are battery consumption savings, more vibrant colors and true opaque blacks.

Gurman added that Apple wants to make the MacBook Pro the thinnest device in its class in the entire technology industry. The new design and better panels are also expected to attract MacBook users with Apple Silicon to upgrade to newer computers. Based on our experience, many are reluctant to upgrade MacBooks because the performance of the M2 chip at this point is still good enough to make the purchase of a new model unnecessary in the near future.
