If you grew up in the 80s and 90s, Japan was often portrayed as a modern country. This can be seen clearly in movies like Blade Runner and Ghost in The Shell. The fact is that the use of technology in Japan seems to have stopped for a while in the late 80s due to the economic recession. They still need printed documents to carry out important business and only recently digital document delivery has been supported by the majority of government agencies despite opposition.
So it is not awkward to see in Japan the Toshiba Tec Jimucon SJ-9500 computer launched with a built-in dot-matrix printer. The entire machine is designed for office and business use in Japan that still requires printed documents such as the printing industry, inventory, finance, and construction cost management.
It consists of a 15″ touch screen with FHD resolution and supports a stylus. There is no information about the CPU used but it is paired with 8GB of RAM and dual 256GB SSD storage. A dot matrix printer capable of printing up to 240 kanji characters per second.
Also included is a DVD drive, LAN port, 6 USB, DP connection and also serial. The operating system used is Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021. This AIO computer with a built-in printer is designed for Japan due to the issue of lack of space requiring a compact computer. The entire computer is 23 kilograms.
