WhatsApp recently tested a new search feature using Google, after coming with a translation feature using Google Translate. In WhatsApp app beta version 2.24.21.31 for Android, image search feature has been included.
Interestingly, users can continue to search for images that have been sent in the chat room. Just open the image, press the three-dot menu and select Search on web. WhatsApp also issued a notice that the image to be searched will be uploaded to Google.
This feature is very convenient and useful for me. With many people sharing various information and fake news through WhatsApp, now if there is a suspicious picture the user who receives it can continue to search on the web for more information. Not sure when this feature will be rolled out to everyone.
