Xiaomi's Ad-Loaded App Store “GetApps” Will Be Shut Down, But Only In India

As you all know, if you use a Xiaomi device, no matter how expensive or cheap it is, there will definitely be ads displayed. Some are a little, some are a lot and sometimes none at all. In recent times, Xiaomi has reduced a lot of display ads through HyperOS but one that still remains is the GetApps application store that often promotes suspicious applications.

Starting January 2025, the GetApps app store will be discontinued. This will start in India as Xiaomi has partnered with PhonePe for the Indus Appstore app store. Indus Appstore is an app store that offers 200,000 apps in 45 categories supporting 12 different Indian languages. The transition from GetApps to Indus is said to have the potential to bring an ad-free experience as it is ready to use a modern interface.

There is no news if GetApps will be discontinued in Malaysia. In my experience, GetApps app ads only appear in Xiaomi system apps which are rarely used for flagship devices, while in the form of notifications sometimes for mid-range devices. Maybe there should be a new local Android app store GetApps will be discontinued in Malaysia? what do you say
