Samsung has integrated their generative artificial intelligence technology into a variety of products, whether it's a Galaxy smartphone, a washing machine or even a television. Most recently, Samsung Neo QLED and QLED smart televisions of the 2024 model year have received the feature of generating images with AI.
For those who don't know, Samsung televisions have an Ambient mode to display interesting images when the television is not in use. These images can also be background images while the television displays the time, weather and news. If previously users could choose images from the various collections that Samsung included or their own images, the new feature allows users to generate background images directly with generative artificial intelligence.
Samsung is seen using a more or less similar method to Google on some of their AI services, where users have to select some keywords and themes to generate the desired image. Interestingly, every image generated is 4K which can take advantage of the beautiful screen quality of Samsung televisions. For now, this feature is limited to 2024 model year QLED and QLED Neo televisions for users in South Korea, North America and Europe. For global users it will be provided in stages starting in 2025.
