AMD is expected to show off a number of new CPUs, APUs, and graphics cards at CES 2025 soon. Two of the most anticipated components include the AMD Ryzen Strix Halo and the AMD Ryzen Z2.
But now, AMD also seems to be showing off another new APU component alongside the Strix Halo, the Krackan Point. The existence of this APU was confirmed through the Geekbench processor benchmark platform which showed it being used in a new Acer Swift laptop that has not yet been announced.
This APU has not yet been officially named, but there are rumors that it will be called the AMD Ryzen AI 7 350, placing it below the AMD Ryzen AI 300 model.
From the benchmark screenshots shown, this CPU comes with eight physical cores consisting of four ZEN 5 cores and four ZEN 5c cores and 16 power threads with a base frequency of 2.00GHz and a Turbo Boost value of 5GHz.
Just like other AMD Ryzen AI 300 processing chips, this Krackan Point APU will also come with an AMD Radeon 860M GPU which is powerful enough to run creative productivity software and even modern computer games without any problems.
