It is now December 30, 2024, two days after December 28, and this means that all smartphones must now have USB-C if they want to be sold in Europe. This change is also evident after all iPhone 15s began using USB-C and at the same time to reduce the problem of electronic waste – more and more devices are also no longer providing chargers in the purchase package.
In countries under the European Union such as Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and more – the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, and iPhone SE 3 are no longer sold.
Sales have begun to be discontinued on the Apple Store website, while in physical stores only existing stock will be sold until it runs out. Next year, the iPhone SE 4 will complete the iPhone family with USB-C along with the iPhone 17 series.
By 2025, Saudi Arabia and India will also harmonize the use of USB-C. Saudi Arabia will start this new standard on January 1, 2025, while India will start in March 2025.
