Bluesky will start offering subscription plans by the end of this year, according to the company's COO Rose Wang in an interview with Bloomberg. By subscribing, users can support the alternative platform to X while receiving benefits such as uploading longer videos and customizing icons.
Wang added that subscriptions will not be used to restrict basic features of the site from paid users and will prioritize tweets as X Premium currently does.
After the US presidential election, Bluesky now has 10 million users from the United States, the largest percentage of its approximately 21 million registered accounts so far.
