Last week, we reported that Casio has introduced several new watch models in celebration of the Japanese watchmaker’s 50th anniversary.
Most recently, Casio has shown off a ring-shaped watch with the Casio CRW-001, a watch that was also introduced to celebrate the watch company’s 50th anniversary.
Although the CRW-001 comes in the size and shape of a ring, it functions as a watch. The “chain” part of the watch’s hands is made of a combination of metal and resin. It comes with an LCD panel that is nearly 1.0 inches in size, and shows the time down to the second and the date. It also has a built-in stopwatch function.
In terms of size offerings, Casio says that this watch comes in only one finger size option, which is US 10.5 and is powered by a small button battery that can power it for two years. When it dies, it can be easily replaced.
Unlike previous 50th anniversary watch offerings, the Casio CRW-001 ring watch appears to only be offered in the Japanese and United States markets for now at a price of 19,800 yen or $128. It is not yet known if this ring watch will be offered in other markets such as Malaysia.
