Casio G-SHOCK MRG-B2000 Watch Inspired by Katana Swords and Priced at RM43,995

Casio Malaysia introduces a new watch from the MRG series inspired by the traditional Japanese long sword making technique, better known as the katana, namely the G-Shock MRG-B2000JS-1A.

It is inspired by the Juryoku-Maru: San Katana sword, which was exclusively designed by two Japanese blacksmiths, Kamiyama Teruhira and Nomura Mamoru for Casio. This interactive element bridges centuries-old tradition with Casio’s commitment to continuous innovation to deliver watch technology that functions well.

The G-Shock MRG-B2000JS-1A uses titanium material for the frame and bezel. Where the titanium material needs to go through a recrystallization process to obtain its original elements. Then the plating process is to coat the surface with a thin and even layer of another metal to add a flash and sparkle to the surface of the watch.

This watch is also designed to be shockproof and magnetic. In addition, it is equipped with a sapphire crystal with an anti-glare coating that protects the watch. On the back, there is an engraving with the character 燦 (San) describing something that shines beautifully, which is also hand-carved on each watch by the blacksmith.

Meanwhile, a textured strap using a material called lacquer and titanium alloy also complements this watch. Which is also scratch-resistant with a glossy finish that shows off the luxury of the watch strap with its colorful light reflection.

There are also other standard features such as connection to smart devices, solar charging, stopwatch, daily alarm, LED light (Super Illuminator), automatic calendar, date display and day indicator. The official selling price is RM43,995 with only 800 units available worldwide.
