ChatGPT on macOS Can Now Be Used with Third-Party Applications



The ChatGPT application for macOS has recently been updated with a very interesting feature. It can now be used with various third-party applications installed. This means that ChatGPT is no longer limited to being used from within its own application or through Siri and Apple Intelligence.


With this new update, 12 applications are ready to be used with ChatGPT. It works by users selecting the application they want to use and ChatGPT will read the content on the screen to continue helping. Users are also not limited to generating text, but ChatGPT search or upload files can also be done.


Interestingly, ChatGPT Advanced Voice also allows users to chat while using other applications. Here is a list of supported applications;

VS Code (including Code, Code Insiders, VSCodium, Cursor, Windsurf)

This feature is currently limited to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Team, Enterprise and Edu subscribers only. There is no indication when this feature will be available to free users.
