OpenAI today announced the introduction of the ChatGPT Search search engine to all users, and is no longer limited to paid customers. However, to use it, users must log in to ChatGPT first.
ChatGPT Search is the ability to perform web searches directly through ChatGPT, while using it as a search engine. This also makes it easier for users to get various information and the latest info through web-based searches, and does not display old data as before. Our own use shows that it displays information that is sometimes good, but there are times when it displays information that is not very accurate, and requires further review.
In addition to being only web-based, OpenAI also provides a Chrome plugin for ChatGPT Search, thus changing the use of the main search engine on your web browser to the ChatGPT Search offering.
For those of you who are interested, you can try the ChatGPT Search search engine via the web and also the ChatGPT mobile application.
