Evan Williams, also known as Ev Williams, is an entrepreneur who is no stranger to the internet arena, especially when it comes to content publishing and social media. He previously founded several popular services, including Blogger (which was later acquired by Google), Twitter (which was acquired by Elon Musk), and Medium. Most recently, Ev also launched a new social app called Mozi.
Ev emphasizes that Mozi is not a social media app, but rather focuses more on the social aspect among close friends. There is no sharing or photo publishing.
Through Mozi, a user can make their plans at a location – such as a location to stop by, or an event to attend. Subsequently, the matter can be shared with their contacts, and it will make it easier to plan to meet up with friends who are also heading to the same location.
Mozi uses phone numbers and address books to connect users and their contacts. This makes Mozi more private, and not as open as other services.
Mozi is currently offered for iPhone users only, and is expected to be expanded to Android users soon.
