Google News is a service that displays a variety of news content from different authentic sources. It has been launched since 2002, with a new application launched in 2018 after being limited to the web version for a long time. After a year of receiving a major update with Malay language support, Google News has been updated again.
This new version uses a cleaner and more user-friendly Material You interface. The content offering based on the Cards display is still used, only the bottom bar is now in line with other Google applications, which is limited to 3 important icons. These icons are Home, Following and Newsstand.
Home is the news that is suggested to you based on your favorite topics with access to various other categories such as world news, local and others. Following is the place to access news from publishers you follow and Newsstand, which was the successor to Currents, remains the local limit to access various news from various authentic publishers.
Google News is offered in Android and iOS applications for free. Alternatively, the Google application itself is ready to integrate this feature. If you want something more specific to local news, the Daun app, a new social media platform, also offers a News tab.
