Google NotebookLM Updated – Can Chat with AI Hosts and Soon Subscribe to the “Plus” Plan for Premium Features

The use of Google NotebookLM is seen to be increasingly popular. Recently, Google introduced a new update for the interface with a more user-friendly design and also includes several new features.

The main interface now displays three customizable panels with the first Sources which can now be reduced according to the user's taste. The second is Chat to chat as in Gemini, and finally Studio, to see the generated discussion topics along with podcast audio with two AI hosts.

For Audio Overviews, Google introduced Interactive Mode which allows users to participate in topic discussions with AI hosts. It will offer an experience as if users were calling the radio to ask questions or deliver messages.

Most interestingly, Google also introduced the premium Plus plan. With this plan, users can generate 20 podcasts compared to the free plan which is limited to only 3. Then 500 notebooks compared to 100, 500 conversations compared to 50, and 300 sources compared to 50 in one day. This plan will provide conversation sharing features and Advanced chat settings as well as notebook analysis.

This plan is limited to Google Cloud customers and users under Workspace plans or education accounts. Coming in 2025, this plan will be offered to everyone under Google One AI Premium subscription.
