Various automotive brands showed off their latest offerings at this year’s Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show. This year, Honda Malaysia also showcased several concept vehicles and, more interestingly, an electric car that will be offered next year for the local market, namely the Honda e:N1.
The Honda e:N1 is an electric car developed from the HR-V, with the same design that can be seen from the rear door handle, all the way to the interior. For the Southeast Asian market, it is sold in Indonesia and Malaysia and is likely to follow the same specifications such as an electric motor that can provide maximum power of 150kW and maximum torque of 310 Nm, allowing acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 7.7 seconds with a maximum speed of 160 km/h.
In terms of charging, the Honda e:N1 sold in Indonesia has a travel range of around 410km WLTP resulting from a 68.8 kWh battery. However, it only supports DC charging of 78 kW, making the charging time 10%-80% in 45 minutes. However, it is different for AC, where 11kW charging requires around 6 hours for a full charge.
Until now, Honda Malaysia is loaded with Hybrid car offerings that also provide energy savings, but with the presence of the Honda e:N1 model at the KLIMS event, visitors will be able to see a fully electric car up close, in addition to giving an idea of how the public accepts electric cars for the local market.
