The Intel Core Ultra 200S chip was just launched last October, but early users and reviewers have reported significant gaming performance issues. In some serious cases, the performance of the Core Ultra 200S series chips is lower than the performance of the previous Gen-14 Intel chips.
Four issues have been identified by Intel with updates already provided through Windows 11 build 26100.2161. Among the issues detected is an incomplete package for Performance & Power Management (PPM). These issues cause a reduction in chip performance between 6%-30% and in more serious cases create BSOD issues.
Another update will be provided in January to improve chip performance in some video games and applications. Arrow Lake chip owners are advised to update the BIOS as soon as possible to resolve these issues.
