Ming-Chi Kuo published his latest report today which said that the launch of Apple HomePod with screen will be delayed to Q3 2025. Issues with the software have caused this smart speaker and hub for connected devices (IoT) to be delayed several times. Previously, Kuo predicted that it would be launched this year and early 2025.
The Apple HomePod is believed to come with a 6-7 inch screen with Face ID support for user facial recognition. There are also reports that it will be connected to a robotic hand that can follow the user's movements and tap similar to the iconic iMac G4. It will be a hub for other products such as smart cameras that will also be launched by to meet the needs of Apple's connected devices.
The Apple Intelligence system will also be provided while the A18 chip will be the processor of choice. There have been several smart screen products launched by Google, Meta and Amazon so far but their sales have not been widespread. Will Apple be able to restart people's interest in buying smart screens at home?
