LG has been showing off several prototypes of their transparent screen TV at CES for the past few years. This technology is not new but was not ready to be offered to the public until it was shown as a real product at CES through the LG Signature OLED T in January. Last week, LG finally sold this television for $60,000 (~RM269,340) each.
This webOS smart TV has a 77″ OLED 4K 120HZ transparent screen with dual-mode support. The first mode is a see-through mode that allows objects on the back to be seen unlike conventional TVs. The second mode puts a black back screen that allows the Signature OLED T to be used like a regular TV with better visual quality.
Through the Zero Connect Box system, this TV only requires a single power cable. TV box input, and video game consoles can be done wirelessly from a distance of up to 10 meters. The audio system supports 11.1.2 channels with Dolby Atmos 4. Meanwhile, the Alpha 11 AI chip improves visual quality and becomes the processor for the smart system used.
