Luno, the popular cryptocurrency asset exchange in Malaysia, today announced that they now have over 1 million active users in the country, and have reported a total transaction volume exceeding RM87 billion.
This year, Luno has also recorded a year-on-year increase in transaction volume of 32 percent, which has helped increase the cumulative transaction volume to that figure. To date, Luno has processed over 72 million cryptocurrency transactions, including Ringgit deposits and withdrawals, as well as digital asset subscriptions, sales, transfers and receipts.
Scarlett Chia, General Manager of Luno Malaysia also said that the average age of Luno customers in Malaysia is around 34.8 years old, and the median deposit for new Luno customers is around RM100. The five most popular cryptocurrencies on the platform are also reported to be Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana and Ripple.
Meanwhile, Luno also showed a total of 3.6 million downloads of their application in Malaysia, where 2.6 million of the total downloads were through the Android platform, and almost one million were through the Apple iOS platform.
Luno has also launched Luno Institutional, a new service targeting institutional investors, professional traders and fund managers with advanced account settings to allow for simultaneous participation of multiple entities and also special account managers for customized solutions.
With the value of Bitcoin now seen to have exceeded $100,000 for each cryptocurrency, it is seen that the currency trading industry will be seen to be even stronger from now on.
