One UI 7 No Longer Supports Downloading Apps for Edge Panel

The Edge Panel is a side tab on Samsung Galaxy devices that can be used to access a ruler, compass, flashlight, apps, notes, and more. First introduced on the Galaxy Note Edge ten years ago, there are now a variety of Edge Panels that can be downloaded via the Galaxy Store. But according to a Sammobile report, starting with One UI 7, downloading apps to the Edge Panel is no longer supported.

Users have started receiving notices from Samsung stating that support for downloading additional Edge Panel features is no longer available via the Galaxy Store. Existing Edge Panels will remain after the device is upgraded to One UI 7. If they are deleted, there is no way to get them back, including purchased Edge Panels.

This is an action to end support by Samsung. It has been confirmed that DeX for PC will also be discontinued in One UI 7. In One UI 6.1.1, the feature of creating animated GIFs through the Edge Panel is discontinued and replaced with the Sketch to Image feature.
