Proton has confirmed that its first electric car (EV) will be officially launched on 16 December 2024. The company revealed this through several teaser images uploaded on its official social media since yesterday. At the same time, it invited the public to join in the countdown to celebrate and enliven the official presence of this electric car soon.
However, pre-orders have been open since last November with an estimated selling price of around RM120,000. In fact, a special offer offering a RM500 rebate along with a RM1000 gift package is also available for pre-orders of any model variant before the official launch.
Developed as a collaboration between Proton and Geely, this electric SUV model is equipped with a 160 kW electric motor with 218 PS power that can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 6.8 seconds with a maximum speed of 175 km/h. Two variants are offered, namely the Proton e.MAS 7 Prime and Proton e.MAS 7 Premium, with differences in battery capacity. The Prime version comes with a 49.52 kWh battery that supports 80 kW DC charging and offers a driving range of up to 345 km. Meanwhile, the Premium version is equipped with a 60.22 kWh battery that supports 100 kW DC charging with a driving range of 410 km.
Specifically for the premium version, there are also additional equipment such as a translucent roof that can be opened, 16 speakers, a HUD display, LED ambient lights, seats with ventilation systems and also an automatic tailgate. In addition, both the Prime and Premium versions have other sophistication such as Self-driving level 2, Vehicle-to-load function, air conditioning with N95 air filter, 15.4″ 2K infotainment display, a 10″ driving cluster display and others.
