To date, the adoption of the Qi2 fast and magnetic wireless charging standard is still not widespread. So far, only the iPhone and HMD have used it – while other manufacturers are expected to offer it by 2025.
The latest, the Wireless Power Consortium has confirmed that any magnetic wireless charging accessory MUST include the Magnetic Power Profile if it wants to use the Qi2 logo on the product packaging. Device manufacturers are also required to include magnets arranged in a circular shape on the back of the device to ensure it aligns with the Apple MagSafe-like charging pad.
The brand new Qi2 wireless charging accessory is now in Malaysia with Ugreen. Supports iPhone and Android at prices starting at only RM155.90.
Without a magnet, any product is not allowed to use the Qi2 logo. Qi2 is a magnetic wireless charging that can charge devices with 15W of power, while MagSafe can reach 25W and Qi is currently around 7.5W. In Malaysia, several products with Qi2 have already started selling such as from UGREEN.
