Qualcomm Denies Intel Claims Snapdragon X Chips Are Returned at High Rate

Over the weekend, Intel interim CEO Michelle Johnston Holthaus revealed that devices with Qualcomm Snapdragon X chips were being returned at a high rate by buyers due to incompatible software issues. Qualcomm quickly issued a statement denying this statement and saying that the device return rate is actually in line with industry norms.

The competition between Intel and Qualcomm heated up this year with the launch of the Snapdragon X chip. The advantages of Qualcomm chips are longer battery life than those offered by Intel chips and higher NPU capabilities. However, it cannot be denied that there are still issues with running video games and specialized software that are not native to the ARM architecture.

Intel's problems have also led to rumors that Qualcomm is interested in buying Intel's design business to enable them to compete in the PC arena.
