The Qi2 magnetic fast wireless charging standard is still not widespread. So far, the most popular devices are iPhones and on Android there is only one, the HMD Skyline. In fact, the Snapdragon 8 Elite device that has been launched now still does not support Qi2. Recently, Samsung is reported to be using this technology.
According to famous Samsung product leaker, Ice Universe – the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 series will include Qi2 magnetic wireless charging support. This is good news after the Galaxy S24 Ultra was said to not support Qi2 to avoid the S-Pen problem. This means that Samsung has found a solution.
With Qi2, devices can be charged magnetically wirelessly at a power of 15W. Without magnets it would be limited to only 7.5W. Unlike the iPhone which supports multiple standards, MagSafe exclusively supports 25W.
