Setel to Implement Six-Hour Cooldown Period as a Security Measure

Setel will implement a six-hour cooldown period starting December 31, 2024 as a security measure to prevent any unauthorized access to user accounts. The cooldown period begins when users log in after performing any of the following activities such as first-time account registration, first-time device change and increasing the DuitNow QR transfer limit (to another person).

The six-hour cooldown period will also limit certain transactions and spending activities due to security restrictions. These include payment functions via Setel QR and DuitNow QR, purchases at PETRONAS Stores, as well as road tax-related transactions such as vehicle insurance, customer service and car services. The new DuitNow QR transfer limit will also only be available after the cooldown period.

However, there are still other functions that can be used during the cooldown period such as refueling, electric vehicle (EV) charging, parking payments, payments at Mesra stores, and order pickup at Café Mesra. Users will be informed of this cooldown period via a notification sent to their respective app inboxes. The cooling-off period will also automatically expire after a certain period.

By considering and planning transactions in advance, you can avoid facing unwanted problems.
