The Apple AirTag is one of Apple's most useful products, so much so that it's compatible with Android devices. Not only that, it's also the only modern Apple product that users can replace the battery themselves. The AirTag 2 is expected to be launched next year, but does that mean that the AirTag is no longer relevant?
It certainly remains relevant, especially with the AirTag location search now being able to be shared with friends, family, or selected airlines. Most recently, ElevationLab has launched a special accessory for the AirTag called the TimeCapsule to increase the battery life of this object tracker.
With the TimeCapsule, an AirTag can last up to 10 years. However, users can no longer enjoy the AirTag in a compact body because this accessory is about the size of a thicker Apple TV 4K remote control. However, it is more durable and also supports IP69 protection.
According to ElevationLab, to get an additional lifespan of up to 14 times, users need to use 2x AA lithium batteries. They recommend Energizer Ultimate Lithium for longer durability. The retail price is $19.99 (~RM90) and there are also 2-pack and 4-pack bundles priced at $29.99 (~RM135) and $39.99 (~RM180).
