XDefiant is another online video game that has been shut down due to declining player numbers. According to Ubisoft, new players will no longer be accepted starting today and the game will only be playable until June 3, 2025 before all servers are shut down.
The drastic move is being made despite XDefiant having just launched in May. Ubisoft will refund money to players who purchased the Ultimate Founders Pack, DLC, and in-game virtual currency to purchase various equipment.
During its Beta test last year, the game was able to attract over 1 million players before recording over 10 million players two weeks after its official launch. Although the game will be discontinued, XDefiant's third season content will still be released to those who are still playing it.
XDefiant is another online FPS video game project from a leading studio that announced its closure after Concord a few months ago. Unfortunately, with XDefiant not continuing, Ubisofy has also closed its studios in San Francisco and Osaka and reduced its workforce in Sydney, which will result in the dismissal of nearly 300 staff.
