A Reddit user a few days ago found evidence that Valve was developing a new tool using the code name Freemont. It is equipped with an AMD Lilac chip which according to Geekbench benchmarks is more powerful than the existing Steam Deck chip.
AMD Lilac performance is 2550 in single core test and 9743 in multi core test. In comparison, the Steam Deck chip scored around 1400 in the single core test and around 4000 in the multi core test. There is speculation that the Freemont may be a second generation Steam Deck but with the ability to be placed on a dock to be connected to a TV.
Some previous rumors said that Valvle might want to produce a new generation of Steam Machine consoles after seeing the success of the Steam Deck. Producing a mobile hybrid console that can also be used on a TV would allow Valve to dominate the PC gaming market in the same way as the Nintendo Switch. It is still unknown when the Freemont will be launched and whether it will be officially offered to the Malaysian market in the future.
