For the vivo X200 Pro screen, at first I started to dislike it because it looked curved. However, after seeing it in person and using it for a few weeks – the degree of curvature is more of a finish because the content does not overflow to the sides.
The screen of this device also supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision displays for a viewing experience with more pleasing colors. The vivo X200 Pro screen uses LTPO technology for a refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz which is quite smooth, fast and consistent.
The vivo X200 Pro still uses a design that is more or less the same as the X100 Pro that I reviewed in January. What I like this time is the simpler design of the back panel because there is no longer a motto text that reviews Xtreme Imagination.
The camera bump of this device, despite its giant size, is not heavy at the top and is balanced. This was only noticed after a few days of use. I am also less fond of the dull finish used because it easily catches sweat stains and is difficult to clean.
At first, I was disappointed with vivo for not including a physical camera button like Oppo or Apple. However, I realized that if Oppo and Apple are unable to offer a perfect button, vivo would be better off skipping it and offering it in the next model.
In terms of the design of other parts such as the sides, top, bottom and front, this device looks suitable for being in the premium flagship category. It is comfortable to hold, easy to operate, not bulky and it really feels like a luxury device in the hand.
USAGE – Funtouch OS 15, Amplify Intelligence
True, I often praise Funtouch OS which is increasingly including more and more stock Android features. However, after OriginOS became more advanced in China, many more or less the same features were also brought to Funtouch OS. This indirectly makes the experience of using this device less satisfactory because many interesting features are limited to China only.
What I dislike the most is the launcher with its unfriendly widget system. It's uneven and difficult to arrange in a neat grid. Then in the system settings, the customization options are a bit confusing because they're not organized into a single category. I also get annoyed when a bloated app that I've disabled and blocked access to for everyone can still give annoying promotional notifications.
However, for daily use it's actually fine. For some users, what I've experienced is just trivial things. Throughout my use, Funtouch OS, although not as beautiful as I expected – at least it's consistently fast and smooth. Unlike my Google Pixel 9 Pro XL which is more than RM2000 more expensive, now I feel lag and inconsistent animation transitions.
Speaking of animations, Funtouch OS is still behind ColorOS or realme UI 6. It doesn't offer fast animation transitions like iOS but it's getting close. I hope in future updates this can change.
What about the generative AI features offered? At first I was very skeptical when vivo called their AI name Amplify Intelligence. After trying some of the features offered I was surprised that it is faster than Galaxy AI on Samsung Galaxy or Apple Intelligence on iPhone.
The AI translation feature for phone calls supports Malay and the process is very fast. The translation is also quite accurate for Chinese to Malay. This feature also continuously generates transcripts and is stored in its own AI translation history section. Another feature is text generation in the Notes app which uses Gemini Nano.
So what Gemini can do, vivo can do. Then of course there are AI editing features like AI Erase to erase objects in the background. It's quite neat and satisfying. The vivo X200 Pro is also equipped with Circle to Search just like other flagship devices now.
PERFORMANCE – Gaming and Dimensity 940 Benchmarks
For years, MediaTek has been trying to catch up with Qualcomm to offer a comparable flagship chip and finally this year it happened with the Dimensity 9400. Compared to last year, the Dimensity 9300 does not have the same capabilities as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. On the contrary, it is like the slightly more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. However, this year, the Dimensity 9400 is seen as a fierce competitor to the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

MediaTek Dimensity 9400 – 6,008
Snapdragon 8 Elite – 5,922
Apple A18 Pro – 4560
Apple A18 – 3698
Apple A17 Pro – 3746
Tensor G4 – 2567
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 – 4717
MediaTek Dimensity 9300 – 4067
Based on my observations on social media, many are still skeptical of MediaTek chips. I have also told you many times, if MediaTek you have to trust Dimensity because it is no longer like it used to be that it heats up easily, the system often crashes and so on. Their chips are now really quality, including having terrible AI capabilities.
During my use for several weeks, the device did not experience any serious lag or heating issues. No matter how light or heavy use, it can be handled by the Dimensity 9400 without any problems.
For the front, vivo is not trying to deceive users by offering pirated PC video games. Instead, it focuses on what they specialize in, which is high-graphics front available on Android devices. The gaming mode provided supports many games. I played Call of Duty, Marvel Snap and a few more for over an hour – the device provided the best and most satisfying experience. If vivo kept the chip used a secret, I would definitely remember it being powered by a Snapdragon chip.
CAMERA – ZEISS + vivo V3+
Although this device looks similar to the previous generation, everything inside is the latest. The Zeiss lens technology used has also been updated and vivo also has its own color profile if there are users who are not fond of Zeiss colors.
Every recording result is very satisfactory. In terms of focus, white light balance, color reproduction, portrait mode, night mode, close-up mode or ultra wide angle. It does look almost the same as the vivo X100 Pro, but more consistent.
Human portrait mode, 1x and 3.7x zoom.
Close-up mode is not a very attractive macro.
Food mode, night mode, AI zoom and wide angle that look like they were taken with a professional camera.
Zoom mode from a moving car and selfie recording.
Zeiss black and white mode and group photos that have no focus problems.
The video recording capabilities on the vivo X200 Pro are now getting better and more consistent. All recording results are stable, support HDR and there are no more problems with stuck recording results. However, I still like video recording on the Oppo Find X8 and iPhone 16 devices.
BATTERY – 6000mAh + 90W Is it enough?
The vivo X200 Pro still uses a 90W wired fast charging system which is fast enough for today. My benchmark is if it is faster than Apple, Samsung or Google, it is enough. vivo also did not forget to include 30W wireless charging, which is a bit slower than competitors but is enough.
For battery durability, this time more and more device manufacturers offer various technologies to maintain battery life in the long term. In terms of battery design and materials, integration in the operating system and also AI assistance. On the vivo X200 Pro, you don't have to worry because they guarantee that this device will last a long time with its battery.
In my light use, it has no problem reaching up to 8 hours of SOT. While extreme usage is around 6-7 hours depending on whether the camera or the front is active. To me, for a premium flagship device it is a very satisfying experience.
IN THE BOX
1x vivo X200 Pro

1x Protective Frame.
1x SIM Pin
1x Guide and Safety Set.
CONCLUSION
If you are a vivo X100 Pro user, I would say that the vivo X200 Pro is a device worth owning. Why? Isn't it still early for a device that is not even a year old to upgrade? Yes, but the vivo V3+ chip that processes images and videos faster makes the device more fun and satisfying to use.
Then, the performance of the Dimensity 9400 which is on par with other flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite devices will definitely attract everyone's attention. Not to forget the increasingly interesting Funtouch OS, although it is not perfect but vivo still wants to ensure that their users receive the best user experience.
What I respect and am proud of is their generative AI feature which is faster than Galaxy AI on Samsung devices. An added bonus, the AI feature on the vivo X200 Pro also supports the Malay language which is not available on Apple or Samsung.
At RM4,699 for the Pro model and RM3,599 for the regular model – the vivo X200 Pro is definitely worth it. The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL that I’m using right now costs over RM6000, and doesn’t have the performance and camera capabilities of the vivo X200 Pro. So, to be future-proof with various updates and interesting features – the vivo X200 Pro is definitely worth owning for everyone.
