I’m sure you’re used to seeing Windows devices with the watermark “Activate Windows, Go to Settings to activate Windows.” This is a sign that the device has not yet been registered with a valid license or is a pirated copy. Recently, Microsoft will also display this watermark on devices that do not meet the required specification standards.
This watermark is more to remind users that they are using Windows 11 on an inappropriate device. Not only that, Microsoft will also provide a warning message that reads;
“This PC does not meet the minimum system requirements to run Windows 11. These requirements help ensure a more helpful and high-quality experience. Installing Windows 11 on this PC is not recommended and may cause compatibility issues. If you continue to install Windows 11, your PC will no longer be supported and will not be eligible for updates. Damage to your PC due to lack of compatibility is not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. By selecting Accept, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this statement.“
Yes, using Windows 11 on a device that does not meet the minimum required specifications will no longer qualify users to receive updates. Not only that, Microsoft also requires users to agree to this and if any damage occurs you will also not be able to claim the device warranty with the manufacturer.
If you are wondering, if there are so many obstacles and warnings why does Microsoft allow the installation of Windows 11 on such devices? This is because a few years ago, the number of Windows 11 users was very low and the installation of this operating system was allowed provided that users signed a special agreement with Microsoft.
Will you insist and continue using your existing device or will you upgrade to a Windows device with the latest specifications?
