xAI, Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence-focused company, has announced that it has raised $6 billion from a number of investors. This new partnership comes after xAI announced that it had raised $6 billion in funding in May 2024, bringing its total funding this year to $12 billion.
Since receiving its last funding injection, xAI has shown healthy development in the artificial intelligence arena, including the introduction of Grok-2, which is smarter in providing answers, support for image generation through a model called Aurora, and also building the largest supercomputer using 100,000 NVIDIA Hopper GPUs. In addition, yesterday it was also shown that xAI has begun testing a dedicated Grok app for iPhone users.
Along with this announcement, xAI also said that they are developing Grok 3, and it is currently in the training phase. However, no launch date has been shared at this time for the latest model.
