3 years ago, Netflix introduced the Play Something feature that when pressed would play content randomly. Last year, this feature was discontinued and recently YouTube was seen implementing a similar feature.
This feature appeared on the YouTube app for Android in the form of a floating button. When this button is pressed, it will play random videos in a vertical video player. However, the videos played are not Shorts but also regular videos. The content of the videos is said to be based on user interests.
The Play Something button on YouTube has been tested since last year, but this feature only started appearing for some users through version 19.50 of the YouTube app. In my tests, it still did not appear and it is not sure when it will be widely introduced.
