Acer today announced a number of new products in conjunction with the ongoing CES 2025 event in Las Vegas. Most notably, its Predator Helios gaming laptop series, where it has shown off three new models, including the Predator Helios 16 AI, Predator Helios 18 AI and Predator Helios Neo 16S AI.
Starting with the Predator Helios 16 AI and Helios 18 AI laptop series, both laptops come with 16- and 18-inch screen displays, and come with a choice of OLED or Mini LED panels. The Predator Helios 16 AI is loaded with a WQXGA (2560×1600) OLED screen display with a 240Hz refresh rate, while the Predator Helios 18 AI will come with a panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a brightness value of 1000 nits.
The Predator Helios 16 AI laptop can be loaded with 64GB of LPDDR5X memory and 4TB of PCIe 5.0 SSD storage, while the larger model supports 192GB of memory and 6TB of SSD storage.
In terms of CPU, both laptops use Intel Arrow Lake H and HX processors, with options up to the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX with optional NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5000 graphics cards, up to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU model, the most powerful laptop graphics card to be launched.
Both laptops will use the 6th generation Aeroblade 3D cooling fan with a fan blade thickness as thin as 0.05mm. This fan is said to be able to move 20 percent more air compared to plastic fans used to cool components in laptops.
The new model in the Predator Helios series is the Predator Helios Neo 16S AI laptop which comes with a more compact design, but still has very powerful computing power. In terms of specifications, it uses an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor chip with 32GB of LPDDR5X memory and 2TB of SSD storage. In terms of graphics, it will use an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card which is also very powerful.
All Predator Helios 16 Ai, 18 AI and Helios Neo 16S AI laptops will be offered in selected markets around the middle of this year. For the Malaysian market, we may know more details about it this weekend during the Predator League event.
