APK Blocking Feature Can Be Disabled on Galaxy S25 When Device is First Activated

Last year, Samsung first introduced the Auto Blocker feature that prevents sideloading APKs on devices running One UI 6.1.1 such as the Galaxy S25 series, Z Fold6 and Z Flip6. It received criticism from owners because it was enabled by default after the device was updated. As a result, users can no longer install applications outside the Play Store and Galaxy Store. But on the Galaxy S25 series, this feature can be turned off directly when the device is first activated.

Immediately after users perform the process of restoring the old device settings on the Galaxy S25 series, they will be given the option to turn off the Auto Blocker, Customization Service and Personal data Intelligence features.

One UI 7 also displays detailed information about what happens if these three features are not enabled by default by the user. Among the risks is that the device cannot block images containing malware and it is well known that sideloading applications using APKs exposes owners to applications that can steal personal data by online scammers.
