Apple Says It Doesn't Sell Siri Data to Third Parties, Including for Advertising

Apple recently agreed to pay $95 million in compensation after Siri was found to have recorded users' audio without permission. Apple settled the case out of court, and did not lead to further trials.

Further, today Apple via its official website said that they are committed to continuing to protect user data, and privacy is a key focus in the development of their products. At the same time, Apple also emphasized that it never uses data from Siri to develop user profiles for marketing, never offers it for advertising, and never sells the data for any purpose.

Previously, TheGuardian's investigation in 2019 found that Siri can be accidentally activated by users where it records conversations, and the audio recordings are used for training purposes - which are then listened to by third-party contractors. Sometimes private conversations are also recorded and listened to. Apple has subsequently changed the settings on their devices.

Through Apple's partnership today, they emphasized several times about privacy, and said that it is a core core of their product and service offerings to users.
