One of the cool AI features on Apple devices is notification summaries. In theory, users who receive a ton of notifications all the time should be able to take advantage of this feature because it summarizes everything in a concise text. Unfortunately, Apple’s intelligence is still not smart enough because the summaries are very confusing.
A recent viral case was from the BBC when their news notification summaries confused many readers. Because of this, Apple will introduce a new iOS update. In this update, the summaries will have a label that they were generated by Apple Intelligence.
This is a good thing because until now, all generative AI services have been hallucinating. Google Gemini, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and others all display a disclaimer that the generated text needs to be reviewed. Apple also gave a statement to the BBC that Apple Intelligence is still in beta, and users are free to report them if the summaries generated are problematic.
