Apple AirTag is one of Apple's smallest products and the only one with a user-replaceable battery. The second-generation AirTag is coming soon. In the meantime, the existing AirTag has been updated with location sharing and a new child-safe warning label.
In collaboration with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Apple products with button or coin cell batteries must have a label that they are dangerous for children to swallow. To that end, AirTag packaging now displays the appropriate safety warning labels.
Not only that, from within the Find My app, when users change the battery, there will be an additional warning on the screen. It's quite interesting to see Apple demanding a government order and continuing to change the AirTag packaging even though the second-generation version is expected to arrive this year.
