ASUS and MSI are two rival technology companies from Taiwan that showcase a wide range of computer product offerings from components to laptops, accessories and even screens.
Speaking of which, both companies have showcased two 27-inch screen display models equipped with QD-OLED panels that promise a display that is not only bright, but also has beautiful and accurate color processing.
These screens are the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM and the MSI MPG 272URX QD-OLED. Both of these displays come in 27-inch sizes and 4K resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate, and also use the latest QD-OLED panels to achieve the best performance in terms of resolution and high refresh rate.
Both displays also come with support for the latest HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1a ports with UHBR20 data transmission support which is seen to support the latest graphics card offerings from AMD and NVIDIA that will be introduced soon.
The ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM comes with a brightness value of up to 1000 nits, supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision display technologies and has the ASUS OLED Care Pro feature, where the display will turn off automatically when it detects that the user is not in front of the screen. This feature is useful to ensure that the QD-OLED display used can last a long time.
This ASUS ROG display also comes with another feature called OLED Anti-Flicker 2.0 which reduces display flickering issues when the screen refresh rate changes during use.
As for the MSI MPG 272URX QD-OLED display, it supports DisplayHDR True Black 400 technology for bright and accurate color processing, in addition to ClearMR 13000 certification which ensures that this display does not experience blurry pixels at all. It also appears to come with OLED Care 2.0, which, like ASUS’ offering, reduces the likelihood of OLED panels suffering from burn-in issues that plague many other OLED displays.
At the moment, it is expected that both of these displays will be showcased at the CES 2025 event in Las Vegas next week. As of now, neither ASUS nor MSI have announced when their latest gaming displays will go on sale. An announcement on this is likely to be made at the event next week.
