In the BMW Malaysia year-end event today, they shared more about their company's performance, and also shared about their performance in electric vehicle sales in Malaysia. For the year 2024, more than 2700 electric vehicles have been sold through their product offerings, namely the BMW brand, the Mini brand and also motorcycles through the BMW Motorrad brand.
Through electric car products, the BMW iX2 has sold more than 460 units, while the BMW i5 has sold more than 400 units. BMW, which also offers the MINI, has also managed to sell more than 320 units of the Countryman SE ALL4. Interestingly, 44% of MINI sales are electric cars, proving the increasing demand for electric cars in the MINI brand.
For the BMW Motorrad brand through the Urban Mobility series, 370 have been sold and of this total, 41% is from sales of their electric motorcycles, namely the BMW CE 04 and CE 02. This figure is an encouraging thing, proving that there is indeed a demand for premium electric motorcycles in Malaysia. This brings the total number of electric vehicles sold to date to nearly 33,000 units.
BMW Malaysia also shared that they now have more than 2020 charging stations throughout Malaysia to ensure that their electric vehicle users always receive comprehensive support and this is also achieved in collaboration with other charging partners such as Gentari, ChargEV, Yinson, JomCharge and many more. With such performance, it is not impossible that we will see more premium BMW electric vehicles on the road this year.
