Corning Gorilla Armor 2 Withstands Drops from 2.2 Meters

The Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup has been announced, and the latest Corning Gorilla Armor 2 protective glass was also unveiled. It is used on the Galaxy S25 Ultra model with a new material that is more durable than glass. It uses the industry's first anti-glare ceramic glass material that has a better drop resistance rate than the previous generation. This makes this protective glass more resistant to scratches and impacts when dropped on rough surfaces.

According to Corning, this protective glass can withstand impacts from heights of up to 2.2 meters on rough surfaces. In addition, Corning Gorilla Armor 2 is also four times more scratch-resistant than lithium aluminosilicate glass offered by competitors. The results of laboratory tests conducted found that Corning Gorilla Armor 2 can withstand drops of up to 2.2 meters on rough surfaces resembling concrete. Meanwhile, competitors failed to survive at a height of only one meter.

The anti-glare layer used also helps significantly reduce reflections to improve the user experience in various lighting conditions. With Corning Gorilla Armor 2, Samsung and Corning provide a better and more durable durability experience for new Galaxy devices.
