Hearing Aids Will Soon Support Google Fast Pair

To compete with Apple, Google will also bring hearing aid support to Android with a simpler and simpler connection method. Unlike Apple, which only has a software update, AirPods Pro 2 can become a hearing aid – Google is focusing on the connection method.

Many hearing aids now use a system similar to a true wireless earphone set or TWS. This means that many will support Bluetooth connections. Specifically for hearing aids with LE Audio and Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids (ASHA), Google Fast Pair support for fast and instant tethering to Android devices will be introduced.

Hearing aids connected with Fast Pair will also support a number of built-in AI features, such as Live Caption, Live Transcribe and Sound Notification that are already built into Android. Then directly from within the Android device, hearing profiles for specific situations can also be activated.

This feature is said to arrive in Android 15. However, it will still depend on the hearing aid product manufacturer.
