Smart monitors with Tizen and WebOS operating systems are already sold in the market. Today, the HP Omen 32x is launched as a smart gaming monitor that uses the Google TV operating system. It is equipped with a 31.5″ 4K IPS LCD screen that supports a 144Hz refresh rate and the DisplayHDR 400 standard with Dolby Vision.
The monitor panel can display 95% of DCI-P3 colors and 99% of RGB colors. There is support for NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium for video gaming sessions. Input options are 1x DisplayPort 1.4 and 2x HDMI 2.1. Connection using USB-C can supply up to 65W of power to laptops.
There are also 2x USB A, a 3.5mm audio jack and a LAN connection. A KVM switch system to connect various input device accessories simultaneously. Because it is a gaming monitor, owners can stream content directly to four different platforms simultaneously without the need for additional hardware. When no input is connected, the Omen 32x functions like a regular Google TV with support for a variety of apps.
The HP OMEN 32x Smart Gaming Monitor will be available starting next April for $749.99 (~RM 3365) each.
