Huawei Shares Official Images of China's Largest EV Luxury Sedan

Huawei has shared official images of the Maextro S800, which is being marketed as the largest electric luxury sedan (EV) for the Chinese market. Maextro is another EV sub-brand of Huawei and was developed in collaboration with JAC. It was first shown in November last year but details about it were not announced and in the latest images the front grille and tire rim design have changed.

The Maextro S800 is 5,480 mm long, making it larger than the Nio ET9 is (5,325 mm) and Maybach S-class (5,469 mm). It is offered in two models, a full EV with two electric motors and 852 horsepower. Meanwhile, the EREV model comes with 1,006 horsepower and a 1.5-liter gasoline engine that generates power for the three electric motors when the battery runs out. The EV model weighs 2731 kg while the EREV model weighs 2859 kg.

In a video shared by Huawei, the S800 has the ability to self-drive to find a nearby charging point. Upon arriving at the charging point, the robot arm will automatically insert the charging head without any human intervention.

The official launch date of the Maextro S800 has not yet been announced by Huawei but it is estimated to be priced between 1 – 1.5 million RMB (RM 610K – RM 916K) each.
